With new subsidies announced as part of the Federal Budget, now is a great time to take advantage of the financial support available and host a HIA apprentice.
The recent announcements mean the Australian Government is providing financial support to all employers who engage a new apprentice, by offering a 50% wage subsidy.
But, you need to be quick, the new subsidy is capped at 100,000 places across all industries in Australia.
How does the subsidy work?
The wage subsidy is available for a maximum of $7,000 per quarter, per eligible Apprentice.* The subsidy is available for wages paid from 5 October 2020 to 30 September 2021.
HIA will apply for and pass on the subsidy to all HIA host trainers who take on an eligible new apprentice from now until places are filled. However, there are factors that may impact qualifying for the subsidy, so the best way to found out if you are eligible is to talk to us.
If you’ve been thinking about growing your workforce, or could just use an extra set of hands on site, now is the time to talk to us about how a HIA Apprentice could help.
Let’s support the next generation of tradies together.
