Bowens is committed to supporting the communities we operate in through initiatives such as grants, education scholarships, and community-focused sporting clubs.
We believe that by working alongside our customers and communities, we can achieve positive outcomes that benefit all. Whether it’s health and wellbeing or investing in the next generation of tradies, our support will go where they’re needed most.
Each year, we offer 1000+ TAFE students the tools and resources to improve their mental health and wellbeing through various workshops and events. Students also have a chance to upgrade their building skills through multiple innovative product training sessions from top brands such as Simpson Strong-Tie, Paslode, wedi, and more.
Our local TAFEs and institution partners include Holmesglen, the Australian Institute of Building, Box Hill Institute, Chisholm TAFE, and Swinburne TAFE.
Bowens is committed to encouraging young women to embrace careers in the building and construction industry. We are proud to have partnered with the Australian Institute of Building ‘Girls In Construction™ initiative’ with the aim of addressing the gender gap in construction.
Our annual Women in Trade Event brings together 500+ women working in trade and support roles across Victoria to help celebrate, support and #EmbraceEquity together.
We have supported 40+ local sports clubs across Australia, from grassroots community leagues to competitive teams, to create more opportunities for local-level sports. Our commitment to community participation also ensures that we give back to the communities that have supported us over the years.
If you are a local sporting club near a Bowens store, we encourage you to apply for sponsorships through our Sporting Club Program. We are excited to continue our commitment to giving back to our communities and look forward to hearing from you.
We understand the importance of investing in the next generation of tradies and wanted to create a legacy that would benefit the youth. Therefore, we have partnered with Holmesglen to offer financial scholarships for young men and women in their 2nd and 3rd year of apprenticeships at Holmesglen TAFE through the Bowens Holmesglen Scholarship Program.
